I was recently appointed to the OneOhio Recovery Foundation Board! This committee was created at the direction of Ohio’s state and local leaders to distribute 55% of funds Ohio receives from the pharmaceutical industry to invest in opioid misuse treatment, recovery, and prevention efforts. House Bill 5, the Adoption Modernization Act, unanimously passed the Ohio House on June 27th! This bipartisan, priority legislation modernizes Ohio’s adoption process and prioritizes the best interest of the child. By refining Ohio’s current adoption law and eliminating resource barriers for families, this bill will propel our state forward by ensuring that all Ohio children have the accessibility to safe and nurturing homes.

May 8th through 12th was Teacher Appreciation Week! That Thursday, I dedicated the day to visiting all 31 public schools in House District 27 to drop off cookie trays and personalized letters to teachers and staff members at each school. What a day! 

Our first focus group, focusing on gun violence, was a huge success. I greatly appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from some of my constituents about their general thoughts as well as their legislative suggestions.

I was appointed to serve as a member of the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund Board! The mission of the OCTF is to prevent child abuse and neglect through investing in strong communities, healthy families, and safe children.

On January 3rd, 2023, I was sworn in to Represent the 27th district. Since then I have joined the following committees, and have passed legislation.

On September 16th, 2021, I was interviewed in NPR's "The 1A" to discuss the state of school boards and school board races around the country!

Our district was sued after implementing a mask mandate for elementary school students. I was interviewed about this on Channel 9!
